The training  is a Women Leadership Development Course and uses standardized curriculum developed by Power Africa – Nigeria Power Sector Program (PA – NPSP).

Training Objectives

To meet the professional development needs and close the skills gap that will ensure excellent job performance and maximize opportunities that include women in decision making and leadership roles in the energy sector.

This five-week online training will equip talented junior and mid-level women in the energy sector with strategic leadership and professional skills to advance in their current roles and in their long-term careers. The course  will take you through a comprehensive training program with practicum sessions that will build on your existing knowl­edge and improve your professional skills. The expectation is that by the end of this course you will be able to:

• Identify the attributes of successful female managers and leaders.
• Recognize the challenges facing women in the workplace and how they can be overcome.
• Employ a wide range of leadership skills for managing different situations in the workplace and in your personal life.
• Understand how to navigate organizational politics.
• Communicate professionally using technology.
• Acquire skills to coach and supervise.
• Build and lead effective teams.
• Manage conflict and negotiations.
• Develop strategies to attain career and life goals.
• Manage time effectively for better work-life integration.
• Network strategically and expand personal support systems.

To accomplish this, participants take part in a 40-hour curriculum that covers 20 competency-based modules delivered over a five-week period.
